I would like to take the time to deviate from what is considered the norm for this journal and introduce you to a song. Yes, a song. If you'll notice, the title of the song in question is displayed as my Current Music. That song is Lakes and Marshes with Doubt from the Star Ocean: Till the End of Time OST. You can download it here. It's a 3.6 MB MP3 file, but is worth downloading.

This is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. I do not mean powerful as in "full of loud noises and shouting", but "strongly evokes powerful emotions". The song itself (about 2 minutes long) is simplistic in that it doesn't utilize very many different sounds. But perhaps there is a reason for this simplicity. It seems to create an aura of innocence, and the somber mood communicates the helplessness of innocence. The part of the game where this song first plays strongly enhances this... or perhaps it is the music that enhances. The emotions conjured by listening to this song are so powerful that I was moved to tears the first time I listened to it outside of the game (other sounds tend to mask some of the music; downloading the file and listening to that creates the true mood).

I would recommend that you download this file as soon as you can. The relatively small size equals a short download time (unless you have a horrendously slow connection). That is all. Thank you for listening.
